About wemingle
The living room of the internet
A living room is where you are when you're not doing anything in particular. Someone's reading, someone's on their laptop, someone's making tea, and every so often two of you start talking. Nobody has to perform, and you can leave whenever you like.
wemingle is that, for the whole internet: a calm social space you can keep open in a tab while you live your day. Work, cook, study, unwind, and have people around while you do.
- Company, not a feedThere's nothing to scroll and nothing to keep up with. Just the people who are here right now, each one a square in the same room.
- Everyone in their own timeEvery square shows that person's local time, with a sun or a moon. Someone's having breakfast while someone else is winding down for bed.
- Quiet by designNobody shouts across the room. What you say reaches the people around you (you choose how far you hear and are heard, up to 10 tiles), so if you want to talk to someone, you walk over, like you would in real life.
- Only the sounds of peopleNo background music. What you hear is what people are doing: a whisper nearby, a wave, a snack landing, a knock when someone wants to talk.
- Say what you're doingCooking, studying, folding laundry, can't sleep. Everyone says what they're up to when they come in, so you know who's up for a chat and who just wants company.
- Talk when you both want toMessage someone nearby and it opens a private conversation, only the two of you, never saved. Some people like to be asked first; that's their choice in settings.
Come as you are
